There was a woman who was very lonely
all her life, but only in her sleep. Without sleep, she was
surrounded by friends and relatives, who each loved her passionately,
and always wanted to exist in her life. But in her sleep, she always
visited the world by herself, and never met anybody within her dreams
who would keep her company. Even when during sleep she met someone
she knew, they separated after a conversation or a common event. For
that she was very well known, for that strange affliction. Because
this affliction was at the same time a great ability. It was a talent
to be objective and knowledgeable, and above all unaffected by any
foreign emotions. Her sleeps allowed her to gain all the most
important information about past, present, and future, and she was
famous for possessing always the best knowledge and best advice for
everybody.
Her name was Boadicea and she was the
Queen of the Elves. She lived in
Forrenden15,
the kingdom of river elves. She shared her throne together
with her sister Galadriel, and they ruled both their lands.
One day she was paid a visit from an
elven friend, whose name was Kni. Kni was a husband of both her and
her sister, and they were always very close. He brought in the
wildest of news.
'The earths are all attacked, all of
them. Many of our close ones lost their homes. Many', said Kni.
'This is outrageous! Not a year has
passed since we regained all our happiness,' exclaimed the queen.
'I know. This has been prophecied
though, you surely remember,' said Kni.
'We have been warned. And we have spied
on them, those barbarians of that sorry universe. So they truely
think they could gain rule over entire existence?', said Boadicea.
'It appears so. You know how Sauron
always advised you to not separate with people. Many spells were put
over our kingdom so it remained united even in the harshest of times,'
said Kni.
'What now? And how are the people?',
asked Boadicea.
'Now, well, I am going to join the army
of Patrick, who has built a garrison near the French capital. I am
needed there. But first I had to come here to tell you about all the
events', answered Kni.
'So, what has been going on?'
'They are everywhere, the wilds from
that other universe. They work all the time. They had been seen. They
built laboratories and smitheries everywhere they could on all the
planets. They hurt many creatures just to establish themselves on our
territories. The trees are being chased away by them from where they
station. All the trees are currently on a journey, looking
for a safe land to settle down.'
'Since when is this happening? I have
seen the walk of many trees yesterday night.'
'For two days already this is happening,
and three days ago hundred of our friends lost their homes, chased
out of their residences.'
'How long until we can fight them
away?', asked Boadicea.
'We don't know, because longer than we
would like it surely. They are more numerous than the previous
criminals who dwelled here.'
'This is such a disaster. I knew, of
course, I was expecting it. But we have only recently regained
control over our lives, and oh, I don't want to lose it again. Is
there a big threat to us that we shall become imprisoned again or
separated?'
'Not much threat there is to such an
event. No, this should not happen again. Instead there is a grand war
before us. This new enemy of ours, he wants to face us straightly.
They are much less of cowards than the criminals that used to haunt
this earth before them,' said Kni.
'What is needed to be done?'
'Nobody has made a decision yet.'
'Therefore I will commit myself to
finding a solution against this new cataclysm,' said Boadicea.
Kni remained
at her palace16
for yet another day, and then he left to the direction of
France, equipped in many protective spells and armours gifted from
his both wives. During his stay, they didn't talk together much.
Instead, Galadriel contacted people of the world to inform them about
the new events, and Boadicea stayed by herself, looking for remedies
to the war that fell upon all of them.
She spent her time mostly in her
library17,
perusing many books that were gathered there. Upon the leave
of Kni, she went down to say good-bye to him.
'I have foreseen many events, most
dangerous ones. I do hope you will meet with Aragorn there in the
garrison, for I have envisioned he will come there soon from now.
They all lost their homes, and there have been kidnapping attempts.
Sauron with her children has fled to Tataria, escaping the hands of
those bandits. But we must all meet in one place, and I know this
will take much effort.'
'I know I will be safe, and you are
right, we must organize a place where we all can stay.'
'Perhaps it would be good to prepare a
meeting spot for all of us to go there and get further advice. I have
talked to the Elves of Rivendell, and they are scarcely touched by
this war so far. They are a very powerful stronghold. I am sure that
their capital is best for the people to find shelter and help', said
Boadicea.
'You are right, I am certain of that.'
'I will therefore go to Rivendell.
Galadriel has prepared many protections
against the downfall of our kingdom. We will invisibilise it
and leave it. Should you want to contact us, do know we will be
inside Rivendell. The elves should not stay apart in the times of
war. We will be so much better off being all together.'
'All right then, I will know that
Rivendell is the meeting place for everybody.'
'I will leave tomorrow morning, and I
know I will see you there in some weeks, short months maybe. The
elves of the woods have built amazing walls around their kingdom, and
prepared large troops and big amount of weaponry to fight off any
invaders. And I know that their kingdom will be easy to be protected.
Contrary to ours. Enemies are already close to our borders. We must
move out of here and join all the people inside Rivendell. So do go
there when you can.'
'I will. But Rivendell can not be our
main garrison and shelter.'
'Surely it will not be. The main
headquarters for this war must be constructed. From Rivendell, we
shall establish a route to the main garrison. But it is the kindom of
the woods which is the best place to gain advice and help for everybody, so
spread a word about it.'
'I will go therefore, and I hope to see
you in Rivendell in our future.'
Boadicea said good-bye to Kni and the
next day she wandered from her palace into its main yard. All the
elves of her river kingdom have gathered there already, and once she
joined them, they commenced their walk out of the kingdom borders and
into the gates that made a passage to Rivendell.
To Rivendell they went, and there were
two thousands of them, and their horses, and their carriages, and all
their possessions. And the kingdom of the woods greeted them
enthusiastically.
'My brothers and sisters, I am so happy
to see you, and to know that you are still safe,' said Nicholas upon
their entrance.
Nicholas was the King of Rivendell,
which he ruled together with his brother Michael.
'All the animals are migrating towards
our city, and tomorrow they will be here too. The trees that were
deprived of their homes, and many wild beasts have already joined us
here. The two princes of the
Elves18
will arrive here possibly at dawn. So many are here and more will
come,' he said to the two queens of Forrenden.
And so, they all settled in Rivendell.
After a week, the kingdom was full to the brink with newcomers.
Underground houses have been built for the many new citizens, and
Nicholas kept constructing multiple defences for their land to be
safe from any invasions.
