The Plateau was one of the six material dimensions of the universe, a dimension of game. It was a pair to Wonderland, and together they gave rise to the existence of the Art dimension. Plateau in itself was a fascinating space, equal in measurement to the space of the entire universe, and was constructed by Sauron quite recently before the year 1000 of the world. Plateau offered a fully-fledged open-air game, and was a host to each and every game ever composed in the world. All the natures of different games became part of the Plateau's environment, and all inhabitants could participate even in all of them at the same time. Entrances to Plateau were hidden inside books, and each book either offered a transport straight into Plateau, or informations on how to reach a book with a gate inside it. All books supported the existence of that dimension, and in return Plateau hosted two libraries filled with many different tomes of knowledge. In addition to book gates, Plateau was reachable also through game sources, which were differently looking stations positioned inside all other dimensions in natural surroundings.
