Misty Mountains were very old peaks at the south of the country of Tataria. They were one of the biggest mountains of the whole universe and were sacred for all religions of the world. Inside them, they contained holy lakes and holy caves, and many doors were inbuilt into the walls of the mountains, through which one could travel from one mountain to another. Crosses and sanctuaries and chapels were in many spots of that area, and religious convents of many different types were established inside the mountains. Also, giants were living there, and dragons of Tataria had their kingdom inside there. Many people changed their lives forever afer a visit to the Misty Mountains, and the fame of their spiritual value was grand in the entire world. Even in the horrible times when the Misty Mountains were invisibilised to majority of people, everybody remembered about them and about their immersive powerful culture. In the year 1000, the mountains were filled with visitors and inhabitants, convents were thriving, and the kingdom of dragons took care of the entire region, being once again in great friendship with all of the creatures.
